QUEBRACHO COLORADO AND EUCALYPTUS

Environmental, forest and social management plan

Gallery

Unitán is carrying out an ambitious afforestation plan both in Quebracho Colorado and in several varieties of Eucalyptus (Cloeziana and other hybrids). To date, Unitan has almost 3,000 hectares forested with about 4,500,000 trees between the provinces of Chaco and Formosa.

Our commitment is to increase the forested area by 300 hectares per year. This will bring the total to 10,000,000 trees in a few years. Unitán has certified this project for the issuance of Carbon Credits (VCU), and is the first Argentine company to issue Carbon Credits for afforestation of native species.

This project, certified by VERRA, involves fixing 330,000 tons of CO2. Silvopastoral management, beekeeping and planting of grasses have been incorporated to our forestations to further improve carbon fixation and soil improvement.

In this Image Gallery you can see some of the Preservation and Reforestation processes in which Unitan has been working for the last thirty years.
