COLATAN PAPER
COLATAN Paper is a line of products designed to improve the mechanical/physical properties of both recycled and virgin papers. It allows increasing the speed of the forming machine and thus reducing the consumption of chemical products, maximizing performance and energy consumption.
Unitán has developed two products for the paper industry:
WETSEAL AND UNIPULP
WETSEAL is a product developed based on chemically modified natural polymers, specifically designed to provide an effective moisture barrier, thus improving the durability and functionality of both paper and packaged products in high humidity conditions. This product is applied in Sizapress.
UNIPULP is a cationic polyphenolic additive for the optimization of papermaking processes. It is developed based on natural tannins chemically modified to give it an amphoteric characteristic. This causes its hydroxides to react with cellulose fibers and flocculate at pH7. This allows for better load management in the system, favoring the performance of other additives present, and improving the mechanical properties of the paper by increasing properties such as TCR, tensile strength, and Mullen strength.
