1. Preservation Of Wood

UNITAN has developed an impregnating highly effective for treating and preserving wood.
COLATAN IPG is an advanced natural wood preservative formulated based on tannin extract Quebracho Colorado and salts. It also has properties that provides the facility for painting treated wood and varnish, high quality finishing, color and textures, but without the use of toxic substances to human health and the environment such as chromium and arsenic are present in other preservative products.
COLATAN IPG is ideal for the impregnation of wood by vacuum system - pressure autoclave, provides prolonged protection against fungal degradation and insect attack, which seriously over time the integrity and strength of wood.

It is used for impregnated wood for indoor and outdoor use, or not in contact with the ground:
Timber Flooring
Wood decks
Timber for construction
Timber gardening
Timber fencing
Platforms for pallet
Poles of power grids and telephony

2. Antirust / Anticorrosive

-Anticorrosive pigments based natural tannins: these products were developed to replace pigments based on chromium salts in alkyd systems, epoxy, vinyl-acrylics. They are added at the stage of dispersion and milling maintaining durability properties of the system.
- Antifouling: Unitan developed a metal chelate-based tannins that can replace the traditional use of cuprous oxide in marine paints.
- Rust converter formulated with tannin and dispersing agents: this product allows pre-treatment on metal substrates, inhibiting corrosion processes.

3. Foundry and molding resins based on natural tannins

We are working intensively on the development of a resin to provide optimum properties reactivity and stability for this application.
