Ceramic Additives

BRICKLOW
A chemically modified quebracho tannin for use in manufacturing bricks. Its action is also effective in pottery, earthenware and stoneware.BRICKLOW reduces the viscosity of the clay during extrusion.

Benefits and application:
- Improves clay plasticity.
- Reduces the amount of water required.
- Reduces shrinkage during drying and firing.
- Increases the strength of green brick.
- Reduces pug mill and motor extruder amperage, resulting in electrical
- Very pourable and easily pumped 50% solution.

CLAYTHIN
Is a defloculant for use in many raw materials and bodies. It is also effective in glaze and for nearly any type of casting slip > tableware, sanitary ware, vitrous china, technical porcelain, porcelain.
A specially important feature of CLAYTHIN is that the deflocculation interval is such that the natural variations of the raw materials can be balanced to a great extent.

Benefits and application
- The dry modulus of rupture is increased in most cases.
- Thixotropy effects and hence casting spots can be eliminated to a great extent.
- Increased solids content in slips for spray drying.
- The optimal addition ranges from 0,1 to 0,5% on dry weight.
- The addition required for glazes lies between 0,1 to 0,25 kg per ton of liquid.

FLOCEM
is a new generation, synthetically manufactured, water-reducing normal set admixture for concrete based on modified quebracho tannin. FLOCEM provides a more plastic and flowable concrete, greater uniformity, increased durability, and reduced shrinkage and permeability in your concrete.

Drilling Fluids Additives

UNITHIN
Unithin defloculant is a proprietary tannin-based product used for rheology control in water-based muds. It is very effective for rheology control in low concentrations in most water-based. Mud types include, low solid, semi-dispersed, inhibited KCI, lime or Gyp muds, or to supplement lignosulfonate, lignite muds, deep, hot drilling, cement preflush.

Benefits and application:
- Soluble in systems of high-salinity, high-hardness and at any pH.
- Maximum defloculation at low concentrations.
- Environmentall compatible.
- Several times more effective than CF lignosulfonates, depending on conditions
- Temperature tolerance in excess of 300ºF (149ºC).
- Alkaline product, no caustic needed to activate.
