Unitán has developed high molecular weight natural extracts for anti-corrosion treatments and oxide converters for metals. The mechanism of action involves the reaction of the tannins with the soluble iron salts forming very sticky blue precipitates. The ferric iron hexahydrate and the phenolic groups present in the condensed tannins form complex chelates.
It can also be used on carbon steels, galvanized steels and aluminum replacing products containing chromium, lead or zinc salts.
PREVOX consist of aqueous solutions with a concentration of tannins of approximately 20% by weight; pH regulation and incorporation of additives to improve the wettability of the substrate.
Tara Gum, is a fully natural stabilizer, gelling and thickener obtained from the tara seeds and widely used, due to its high viscosity, in the food industry to formulate juices, jams, candies, bread, cakes, sausages, ready soup and sauces. It is also used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries and oil drilling.
Textiles Natural colorants are a rich alternative for dyeing cotton, wool, linen and other natural fibers. Our tannins from quebracho, tara, guayacan and madder, can be used either as mordants or as dyes to give a wide variety of colors used alone or alongwith mineral salts. There is a growing interest in the textile industry in tannin based systems for dyeing natural fibers.
